Hope you are enjoying the winter months and looking forward to the Spring of 2019. Volunteers for Springfield Park, Inc., are happy to announce our upcoming events scheduled at Springfield Park in Springfield Park, Queens, New York in the coming months.

Wednesday, March 27, 2019
We will collaborate with Queens Preparatory School of Writing doing community service with high school juniors and seniors and planting seedling to be transplanted in our flower beds at Springfield Park.

Saturday, April 27, 2019, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 pm
“It’sMyParkDay” Springfield Park. This is also a community service project. We are in need of several volunteers. After the project is completed, we will be heading to P.S. 52 located at Guy Brewer Boulevard in Springfield Gardens volunteering with CISTA Girls and environmental organization. This will be sponsored by our State Senator James, Jr. Refreshments will be served.

Our annual community outreach event. More details to follow in the coming months.

It’s My Park Day. We need volunteers to do community service to clean up our park at Springfield Park. Refreshments will be served.

Wednesday, December 4, 2019, 4:00 pm –7:00 p.m
Our annual tree lighting. Hot cider, chocolate, and donuts will be served.

Our New Office!

After three long years of looking for an office space, the Volunteers for Springfield Park has its own space at 156-15 146 Ave. in Springfield Gardens.

“We got the keys last week,” said Curlene Nelson, a member of the group, which was founded in 2015. “Together we clean up Springfield Park, but we also maintain the nearby areas surrounding Guy R. Brewer and Rockaway boulevards.”

The group has six board members, including Fay Hill, and now that it has an official space it plans to expand its roster of volunteers and have programming for seniors, youths and adults…
